As a parent, we wear many hats from superhero to doctor to homework helper and so on. Parenthood has always tested my skills and ability and I am not just talking about the deep stuff of parenting and raising healthy and happy kids—I am talking about the things they ask us to do and expect us to master.
Today was Crazy Hair Day at my daughter’s school and you would think that would be an easy messy bun with a few bobby pins here and there. Well maybe that worked back in the 90s, but today’s Crazy Hair Day expectations have taken to Pinterest and there are NO LIMITS!
Now I am in no means a competitive individual, EXCEPT when it comes to my kids wanting to step it up a notch then I will do what I have to do to go above and beyond.
I have always been good at French braiding, corn rows, and have mastered the curling iron; however, my daughter tested my abilities this morning when she came up with the idea to wear her hair like a UNICORN.
Yes, you heard that right, the mystical and glorious mane and horn of a unicorn! I did as most parents would do and went straight to YouTube, I watched three tutorials and figured “I got this,” not allowing my daughter to see the sweat running from my brow!
To make a long story short, after a few pokes of a bobby pin and some improv, we ended up with a pretty sweet Unicorn Hairstyle. We only had a few minutes before we had to leave for school so this took about 15 minutes to whip together.
